some lesser spotted verse

Picture
Winter trees

Winter trees
Their bones revealed
Reach for sun
Through snow chilled breeze.
As  branching shadows fall
Across my face
I feel their contours
Singing in the white arc of my ribs

Enclosed, once more, in radiance
That asks nothing, gives all,
Artless as their smooth-barked flanks
I stand before them
And give thanks
